Book Summary

Kanana Tanana wants a pie recipe, but it’s not so simple. She searches high and low in her private balloon.

She even wonders if she’s been told a lie!

Find out how she solves her problem, and who it is who wants a story about cake instead.

A fun fantasy for children ages two to thirteen. The story, written in poem form, can become a tongue twister for parents, but not necessarily for children. Every child who loves to enter an adult world will join Kanana as she climbs into her own, private, hot air balloon. They will also empathize with Kanana's frustrations as she relates to her friend who doesn't want to share.

Reviews from our readers

After hearing the story of Kanana Tanana…and the Pie Recipe, three-year-old Emily asked her Nana to read it again and again…seven times in a row.

Twins, Kayla and Katie, age nine, both love the book. Kayla said, “I liked the rhyming of the book and also the pictures.” Katie said she also liked the rhyming in the book.  When asked if she thought there was such a thing as a Zanana pie, Katie said, “I think so.”
